What type of outlets do they use over there?
What kind of food did they have? was it more spanish?? |
The funny thing about the fuse is that Nick said he smelled something like "burning". He left the room to go iron his shirt (they have an 'ironing room') on the 9th floor! As soon as he left I heard a loud POP and all the lights were out. All I could think of is that "Nick's gonna kill me!!!". I called the front desk and they fixed things in a few minutes, I guess this type of thing happens a lot!
I actually thought of you when we went to the mall. There was a store that had all sorts of flat irons (nice ones), that were under $100 USD- in fact some were about $50! I was looking for a large barrel curling iron though and didn't find any under $100 USD, so I bought a smaller one for about $25 USD The outlets in Portugal are the same in England.
The Portuguese like to eat lots of fish, from what I can tell! Maybe b/c there's LOTS of water all around?! They had huge tiger prawns that the FO said were $100 USD per kilo. He got 2 of them and that was almost a kilo! They also cook in a lot of olive oil. I read in my travel book that at dinner they will give you bread, olives, etc but you get chared if you eat them. That's excatly what they did, kept bringing out the bread and such! We also had some delicious danish in the morning and went to a little place that had the
best freshly squeezed o.j.! There were so many places to eat, but many of them were really tiny.
More info in a bit, Nick's calling me to watch a movie!
