Default need some allergy advice

I've had the worst "physically challenging" day today...

first, i stubbed my pinky toe on the couch, the inside portion is now black and blue.. don't think i broke anything cuz i can still walk but it definitely hurts...

the bigger problem (yep, it gets worse), is that i was out with the man shopping today, came out of the store just hunky dory and poof, something in my eye...seriously, i went from seeing to blind with some serious tear production.

now, that was this morning.. it's now evening and my eye is no better...i've tried flushing it, i've tried massaging to see if there's something in it and can't find anything. the only thing i can think of is that some small little thing got in there and created an allergy attack. now, i normally get allergy attacks when something like dust gets IN my eye..so i figure it must be something like that..took a claritin and it did nothing (didn't think about taking a benedryl first but now have 2 of those in my system). the problem is, everytime i go to blink, my tear ducts go WILD...seriously, i can't blink without this scratchy feeling and it makes both eyes want to stay shut...plus, now, the skin around my eye is really raw and painful (with all the poking/prodding/massaging/wiping tears etc).

my "self" diagnosis (i know i shouldn't) is that either my eye itself is swollen or the lining right at the end of the eye lid is swollen and rubbing/scraping against the other? can that be what causes the scratchy feeling? it's definitely in the upper eye lid area....

I figure it's got to be allergy because at the same time my right eye went bezerker, my right nostril started draining like a river...

besides just letting the benedryl do it's work, covering it with a wet cloth... can i do anything else to get rid of this scratching feeling so i can see and not have my tear ducts drool constantly?

thank goodness it didn't happen at work, i would have had no idea what to do since i wouldn't have been able to drive.

Thanks!
