Suspicious Person I've had an interesting and horrible couple of days.
I want everyone to keep an extra eye on their kids and neigborhood kids because of this.....
About 3 months ago I noticed an older man in a truck drive down our street.
My kids and the neighbor kids were playing outside in the front yard. He drove very, very slow --actually too slow for me. But we live in a new construction area and there are always people driving around to look at brick colors, shingles, doors, etc. He waved at me and then left. I didn't think too much about it.
Some time after Labor Day, both of our kids were in school.
Jim and I decided to mow the yard. I asked if I could mow and he edge because I needed the workout. So I'm looking down, keeping an eye on my mowing lines and look up and the same man/truck is parked across the street. He smiles and waves at me, then leaves.
Jim came around the other side of the house and I tell him it's the guy from before and he wants to chase him down. I said no.
So yesterday morning, Jim left for work at 7:30am and DS and I watched for the bus. (The bus goes past our cul-de-sac and then returns to pick up our son on the proper side of the street)
DS opened the front door and left to walk to the bus stop. I walked over to the front door and there was the truck parked in our cul-de-sac.
I stared at his truck and turned and yelled for my son to STOP. At that point the truck drove off. I called all of my neighbors and found out that he's been sitting in front of our house for the past couple of weeks. So much so, that our neighbors thought we had hired him to do contract work on our house.
We started to piece our stories together and found out that he's was sitting in front of our other neighbors house at 7am last Thursday. We also figured out that he's showing up around bus pick up/drop off time.
I'm very scared but focused on alerting everyone I know.
I called the police and they can't do anything until we have a license number. They've increased patrols but other than that their hands are tied.
I just wanted to share my story to remind us parents to be vigilant.
