Default New Orleans-Great overnight

On Sunday, I flew down and met hubby in New Orleans for overnight. We rented a car on Priceline for $15, so we had wheels to travel around a bit (tiny wheels, tiny car, but wheels never the less.) We went to Houmas House (historic homes are a passion of mine, hubby just endures) between Baton Rouge and New Orleans and the Louisiana State Museum. We spent the rest of the evening in the French Quarter watching the Saints game. It was a nice trip.

We stopped at the Lake Ponchatrain Center. We drove many streets. It appeared to us, that the destrustion from Katrina had been removed. In fact, it was hard to imagine where the water had ever been. No official sites in New Oreleans referenced the effects of Katrina, not even the Louisian State Museum. It just seemed odd to me how such a devestating event could me so absent in their "history books."

Flying wise. . . I went from Nashville to Atlanta and then changed planes to go to New Orleans. While we were deplaning in Atlanta they made an annoucment for me that I needed to report to a different gate (called me by name). When I got in the airport, the airport intercom was calling me to a gate. Turns out an earlier flight to New Orleans had been delayed for almost an hour and was getting ready to leave, did I want to take this earlier flight (my original listing wasn't scheduled to leave for another hour)? I walked right on the plane (first class) and they shut the door and left. For all the bumping that non-rev's get, it was pretty nice to have such first class personal service!!!!
