Hi Dana,
this might be a question for a doc, but maybe you´ve got some opinion on this matter as well..

I know this older pilot, he does his medical 1 check every six months, but there is one thing that bothers me.
Looks like he has high blood pressure ( 180-120), and nobody knows about it (only crew that flies with him).
He passes his check with normal BP (120-80) just because he is medicated ( obviously no statement about it in his medical record, I suspect some of his friends-doc prescribe the medication).
I did some research and find out that medically controlled high BP is compatible with Medical 1, but he might get suspended for couple of months to see if there are any side effects or only to fly in multi-crew ..and that could be something he wants to avoid...( loss of income, maybe loss of licence..)

In addition to that, cabine is not pressured, above 7000 feet they need oxygen...but still, they get down totally exhausted...

Obviously his AME doesn´t know about this condition, because his BP "turns out" normal on the check day...so they don´t send him to do any additional exams...

IMO, his behaviour sucks...because he´s not alone in the plane..
What I would like to know, if outside pressure changes can trigger heart attack...and how to recognize heart attack...
