Hotel Rooms. . . a poem Last week, my mom sent the below poem to my hubby.
Hotel Rooms (by Nikki Giovanni)
The quiet simplicity
of a hotel room
Nothing more than you need
nothing less.
A bed
Ususally king size.
A desk
with easy chair.
Remote color TV
with The Deuce
to boot.
Clean towels twice
a day.
Room service coffee
and a newspaper
with intruding headlines.
Life could be more
difficult.
But certainly Not more
comfortable
Than a hotel room
Where poems come
Spinning
Dancing
Teasing
Daring
You
to write
Them. |
