| Re: Shark show on Discovery channel I'm a huge discovery channel nerd and I am a sucker for shark week!
So of course I was watching last night…
It's intriguing that we have different ideas of that show... you got that the sharks were picking off people one by one, but I didn't get the same impression. From what I got from the program, there were groups of people who hardly saw any sharks the entire time, but that one group was continually bothered by the sharks. I think that some of those people may have been attacked, and of course those who were already injured were most likely to become dinner. A lot of the people interviewed said that for the most part, the sharks were eating the dead. Some of that may have been towards the end of the program, though… I can't remember. You should watch the whole thing from the beginning and see what you think this time. Brian and I thought it was more of the entire story of the sailors suffering through exposure, lack of food & water, and that the sharks were almost secondary. Of course if it were me, I doubt that I would have even survived in the water for 2 days… and I would be more than a little freaked out by the sharks in the water. It's amazing that there were any survivors!
On a side note, have you seen Air Jaws?? One of my lifetime goals is to go to South Africa and see the Great Whites breach in real life… I think that would be an amazing experience. I find sharks both terrifying and fascinating. |
