Sorry if some of you saw this posted on a different board... I need advice!
After living with my folks for over 2 months (way too long) we finally found a place to live! It's a cute 2 bed 2 bath 2nd floor condo. I will only have a 15 minute commute to work which will be nice. Nick said he didn't mind commuting 2 hours to EWR- isn't that sweet?!
It is in the condo complex where I USED TO own a 1 bedroom condo- how do you like that? It is in a fantastic location too near a major highway.
Here's the BIG problem. I saw the place today and the current tennants are making the decision as to who should live there. We hit it off and I said how cute the place is blah blah blah. I told her I wanted to rent it and she gave me the lease to look over and then said if I want it, it is mine! The lease clearly said NO PETS. I have a cat who is part of our family. I didn't tell them I had a cat but asked if the landlord drops in a lot. They said she has never dropped by unexpectedly in the 3 years they were there. It says in the lease she can enter the premises any time. We are both nervous about this because we don't want to lie, but we are sick of looking and not finding anything "perfect". We are hoping we can sneak the cat in and not be caught.
What would you do in my position? I am set to sign the lease Tuesday!
