Lori - a bug for your birthday? that is incredibly interesting.. what made them think of getting you that? I've always puchased gifts in the sense that if they didn't like it, then I'd keep it and maybe that's what they were thinking?

I think the most interesting birthday i've ever had was not having one! My hubby and his family don't celebrate birthdays like my family does... for his family, it's just a regular celebration where the entire family gets together for dinner (nothing really special, no gifts, no cake) whereas my family goes all out, cake, presents etc... so when we were dating, he thought his type of birthday celebration was acceptable and it took a few years to kinda compromise and created a new definition....we don't go all out for birthdays because to us everyday is our birthday and it helps in that we don't take eachother forgranted...so it works well!
