Default Re: Disaster preperation

We keep a hurricane kit in a big rubbermaid tub in one of our closets. A few years ago Jax got hit with 4 hurricanes in a 6 weeks time span, so we felt it was important to be ready. Especially b/c DH may or may not be here (twice this year he got tapped to move school airplanes to a safer location due to a hurricane threat and we were left alone). We used the free list passed out at Publix at the start of Hurricane season as a guide, but it was something like this- http://www.tampagov.net/dept_Public_...supply_kit.asp

He also keeps a locked gun and ammunition in it but I probably wouldn't use it or keep it myself. My parents in CA also have copies of all of our important documents. Also add in some sanitary supplies because you never know what time of the month a disaster might hit, kwim?
