Fast Food Free in February So thanks to my new Quicken program, and adding up previous months, I see that my family averages $200+ a month eating out. Which seems impossible cause I feel like I spend all day in the kitchen and that we only rarely run out to get something to eat. But somehow we've managed to do that, and to over spend on groceries as well. So I have challenged our family to have a Fast Food Free February. The benefits being saving money, improving our health, and forcing me to get priorities in check. Anyone want to join in? I have spent the last two days making a couple of meals for the freezer, and slicing up veggies to be on hand for quick salads and snacks. I stocked up on groceries. And my intention is that no matter what, no matter how late we are running around somewhere or how hungry we are, too bad. We'll eat at home. So I'm going to be forced to preplan each outing carefully and bring snacks along when needed, and to make sure dh has a packed cooler to take to work. I'll report back on the experience!
