My first nursing job was on a transplant floor and I loved it. Part of our orientation involved being in the OR to watch a transplant surgery. I watched a kidney be transplanted from a father to his 13 yo daughter. It was amazing. And moving. It was incredible talking with my patients who expressed such gratitude for another opportunity at life.
