Thank you both for your encouragement. I know most pilots at some point or another go through this sort of thing, but somehow that's not making this easier.
According to the other employees at Kalitta II, they've never furloughed anyone before. Roz, i'm wondering if your DH is thinking about Kalitta Charters I, instead of Kalitta Charters II. One is owned by Connie Kalitta, two is owned by Doug Kalitta (the one my DH works for).
Everyone at the company is shocked! No one knew this was coming. Doug sent out the letter behind everyone's back. Including his own secretary and the Chief Pilot.
Eric didn't even get sent the letter, he only found out about it because one of his friends (an F/E) called and said "Hey, did you get the letter?" It's all so bizarre!
Anyway, we're trying to stay optimistic and hopefully this is an opportunity for something else.
