Welcome Adam,

My husband is a new pilot, and he is as happy as a bug in a rug ;-). He had an entirely different career for many years before that, and was dissatisfied in that career. We've been married almost 11 years, and since he started flying a couple years back our relationship seems to have improved. We still have our concerns, but it's to be expected - marraige is a lot of give and take in any situation, and different kinds of careers present different challenges to deal with.

I think it is wise to have a backup career, life has a way of throwing curveballs. Everyone has their own path - you have plenty of time to find that someone who is compatible in your interests and dreams in life. Enjoy life as much as possible, it's just too short for anything else :-).
